Glasgow wedding photographer, Killearn Village hall wedding, beautiful sunset

Siobhan and Robert got married at Killearn Village Hall, which is the local town hall in Killearn, Stirling with countryside views. It was a gorgeous day and the sun shone all day long!

Getting hitched

The ceremony was a humanist service at a beautiful town hall by Susan at Fuze Ceremonies – She was fab. During the ceremony they had a beautiful reading, hand fasting and drank from a quaich. I love when couples use traditions that they want during the ceremony, they can add some really special moments.

The Quaich is a two handled cup which is filled with the couples favourite drink – usually whiskey (sometimes not, I don’t think I would be choosing whiskey as my favourite drink!!) Sharing the cup was used as a symbol of trust between the people drinking from it as it is offered and taken with both hands – Back in the day this would be the trust part as both your hands were busy you couldn’t hold a weapon – Yes i said weapon, we are Scottish Cmon!

They decorated the area with beautiful lights and paper lanterns, which I loved. The reception was in the main hall at Killearn Village Hall – I love this venue because you can totally personalise it. Weddings at Killearn Village Hall are amazing, because it is such a versatile space, the layouts and decorations options are endless!

Ceremony at Killearn Village Hall

After the ceremony

The couple had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and live music in the evening. For dinner they had a slap up meal, and the first dance included their adorable daughter. They finished off the evening with non stop dancing.

The couple

Siobhan wore a lacy dress and Robert wore a dapper tuxedo and they looked really incredible. Siobhon’s dress also had pockets so I was obsessed.

The couple got in touch with me years ago, and their enquiry won me over. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they were so relaxed. I really felt like I was family all day, it was such a lovely atmosphere all day.

Why Killearn Village Hall is a great place to get married

Killearn Village Hall has a really laid-back vibe, and is one of the loveliest places to get married in Killearn, Stirling. The venue offers top-class catering – and there is a perfect field at sunset that’s perfect for photos.

We were totally treated in the evening to one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen at Killearn!
